I was talking with Morgan Timm, AKA my partner-in-crime, about how we find good locations to shoot! Since we are friends that work together a lot we tend to just wander around and find good spots as we go along!
So I wanted to share some examples of places that we came across to shoot. I thought the best way to do this in a helpful way was to take a photo from a distance of the location, and also show a couple of the images that I ended up taking there.
When I am looking for a place to take photos, there are a few things I like to keep in mind.
-The outfit of the person I am taking photos of
-The vibe that we are trying to send with the photos (i.e. moody, bright, cheerful, etc)
-Textures of the location
-Colors of the location
If you’re looking for new locations, I highly recommend walking around a downtown area, or driving around a new area and making note of new places that you could use! It would be even better if you had someone willing to come with you as a test model to try out each new location. (Thanks again, Morgan!)
You can turn a small little space into a very cool location if you just keep your eyes peeled! I hope seeing these photos side by side helps and inspires you to find places that wouldn’t normally peak your interest!
Love adventuring with you! Can’t wait to find more awesome locations!
Me too!! 🙂
